"My portraiture always takes place on location, at a site chosen for scenery or familiarity. Many of these photo sessions are of families on vacation. With extended reunions, I begin with the whole gathering, and then focus on the individual groupings. Time and patience (especially with the kids) permitting, I may revisit the large group again in the session. I try to keep the mood relaxed and informal, always keeping an eye for unguarded candid moments."
