Cuba - Art, Culture and Photography Tour
April 5-14, 2019
Join Cindy Wilson and Profundo Journeys on her ninth tour to Cuba. This itinerary features the
capital city explored in a leisurely and immersive way; from walking slowly in the old city to
staying in private Cuban homes. We visit museums, art galleries, churches, markets, dine in
private restaurants, enjoy music and take amazing photographs.
From Havana we travel to the southern coast through the Bay of Pigs and to the city of
Cienfuegos, famous for decorative French architecture and tree lined city plazas. Cienfuegos
is a perfect central point for excursions to colonial Trinidad, the valley of the sugar mills and
the little known, colorful seaside town of La Boca.
We return to Havana and visit the large and ornate Colon cemetery. We spend a day
in agrarian Vinales, home to tobacco farms in the western end of the island, and small, quiet
Cuba is on the edge of many changes visually and economically, but the Cuban people remain
warm and hospitable, sharing their culture and friendship with Americans. We always
feel welcome and enriched as a result of our People to People exchanges.
Cindy Wilson is an accomplished travel and fine art photographer, and also loves to share her
knowledge of photography. Your visual skills will grow with instruction on using your camera,
composing strong images and taking photos that capture your Cuban experience.
