While a student at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Orange Line, an elevated commuter rail through some of the city's most desperate areas was the subject of my documentary photography project. I would ride the rail to school everyday, and often disembark in order to photograph the architecture, street life, and the structural components of the railroad itself. The elevated portions of the line were torn down in 1987, making these images a true record of the past
