Photography is my vocation and avocation; my passport to explore the mysteries around me. I love the way the world is recorded in a photograph, the way detail is rendered and time stands still.

My work is straightforward, with a timeless presence. My work is a celebration of beauty, but not always in the conventional sense; I find serenity and peace in the early morning reflections on water, but also in the aging beauty of an abandoned time worn building. Both appeal to me as a reflection of my inner vision..

My first inspiration was from the photographers of the farm Security Administration in the 1930’s, and the work of Eugene Atget in Paris in the early 1900’s. Why? They turned their cameras to record the world around them and captured the architecture and way of life in images for posterity.

The courage to follow a dream that incorporates my three passions: teaching, traveling and photography.
